Scope: Bulk basement dig, temporary works/shoring, dewatering, spoil removal, traffic management
 

Bayleys Earthworks delivered the basement excavation for Graya’s Kloud project, managing a tight urban footprint with live neighbours and services. Works included bulk cut to design, establishment of an engineered shoring system per the temporary works design, subgrade trimming, and controlled dewatering with compliant discharge. Spoil was carted off‑site under a staged haulage plan to minimise disruption, with traffic control and clear wayfinding maintained throughout. QA hold points—survey, level checks, proof‑rolls, and geotech verifications—kept the programme clean and rework off the critical path. Environmental controls (stabilised entries, sediment capture, dust suppression) were applied from day one and adjusted for wet weather. No sugar‑coating: basement digs are unforgiving; we front‑loaded service proving, kept standby pumps and plant, and made fast decisions on any ground variations. Outcome: a safe, on‑level, on‑programme excavation ready for structure.
